Since UN regulations advised that there should be three layers of packaging, including a pad, when transporting GP specimens to the hospital pathology department, Midco have offered a stock clear transport bag with or without absorbent pads. This particular example was requested by the customer to be colour coded to highlight the blood science specimens so that they are pre-sorted by the GP’s before they arrive at the hospital laboratory. The microbiology department in this hospital also had its own designated transport bag so that its specimens were separated, saving valuable time in pre-sorting.
