Stock Pharmacy Patients Own Medicine Bag (MPP.B8011)

Patient’s Own Medicine (POM) bags, also known as the green bag, are supplied to ambulance drivers and, in some cases, to A&E departments. The primary function of the POM bag is to be given to a family member when an ambulance is called during an emergency, allowing them to gather the patient’s existing medications from home. These medications may include prescribed drugs, as well as herbal or contraceptive medicines. This ensures that, upon the patient’s admission to the hospital, the Pharmacist or doctor at the bedside can review a complete list of the patient’s medications to make an accurate assessment. A&E departments can also issue these bags to patients being admitted to the wards.
